OXYGEN CONTROL DOSING PUMP

Dosing pumps are added next, the dosing point is very important, With Oxygen Scavengers it can take several
tens of seconds to react depending on the temperature of the feed water so injecting as soon as possible after
the exit of the feed tank is one ideal point. Dosing directly into the feed tank is not such a good idea as the
chemical will react with the residual oxygen (from the make up) before it is driven off by the heat of the hot well's
temperature, there will also be some reaction with the chemical at the surface of the water.

(Note the injection point).

The configure menu allows for the oxygen pump allows the following pump characteristics to be set:

• Stroke Length
• Strokes Per Minute
• Max Stroke Rate
• Capacity in ml/hr

And for the chemical

• Concentration (as a percentage - manufacturers data)
• Neutralisation Ratio (eg sulphite 7.88 to 1, Hydrazine 1 to 1, DEHA 3 to 1)
• Reserves to be maintained in the boiler (eg Sulphite approx 50mg/l, Hydrazine and DEHA 0.1 to 1.0mg/1)
