The first press of the "Next" button adds the boiler to the page.

BUILDING THE SYSTEM.

Target levels shown in the in this program where appropriate are broadly in line
with BS2486.
Notice the screen has grey and white text areas,
the grey areas are calculation results filled in as the once the program
is running a simulation
The boiler steaming rate can be changed from the
drop down box and when changed the boiler volume will also change,
the target TDS defaults to 3500mg/l and the boiler pressure when changed will
look up the steam tables and fill in the
expected water temperature for that pressure.
The efficiency of the boiler has a marked effect
on cost and the program defaults to 80% but this is only a nominal figure and
boilers
are available with much higher efficiencies.
The boiler model defaults to Automatic blowdown
of the boiler water. Three bottom blows per day of 5 seconds each are the
default.
Changing these times have an effect on the boiler operation.
The cost of fuel can be input the cost is either
price per Kg for fuel oil or price per cubic Metre for gas, the configuration of
the
boiler (Configure menu) allows for the calorific value of the fuel to be entered
(typical figures 39Mj/M3 for gas and 43MJ/Kg for Oil)
